The Chiefs released their second injury report of the week on Tuesday. Monday’s injury report isn’t a true injury report because the team doesn’t practice in the traditional sense. That means today is the first day we get a true idea of the Chiefs’ injury situation.
Things look pretty good heading into Thursday.
Check out the full injury report down below:
Player | Injury | Participation* |
Eric Berry | Heel | LP |
Tyreek Hill | Wrist / Heel | LP |
Sammy Watkins | Foot | DNP |
Spencer Ware | Shoulder / Hamstring | DNP |
Cam Erving | Knee | DNP |
Kendall Fuller | Thumb | FP |
Patrick Mahomes | Wrist (Left) | FP |
Anthony Hitchens | Quad | FP |
* DNP = Did not participate | LP = Limited participation | FP = Full participation
Eric Berry maintained a steady course of limited practice. Don’t be shocked if his practice is still limited on Wednesday. It also wouldn’t forbid him from playing on Thursday. Either way expect his game designation to be questionable.
I thought that the Chiefs might even give Tyreek Hill the day off today, but it appears he practiced in a limited capacity. That’s good news for Hill, whose dealing with multiple injuries after Sunday’s contest with the Ravens.
Of those who didn’t participate in practice on Tuesday, Sammy Watkins and Cam Erving are the most concerning. Watkins isn’t expected to play this week or perhaps for the rest of the regular season. Erving on the other hand is dealing with a knee sprain and we don’t yet know the severity or timetable for recovery. Don’t get your hopes up for either of them playing on Thursday.
Spencer Ware received a rest day for his hamstring. Expect him to practice at least in a limited capacity on Wednesday and be active for the game on Thursday.
Three ticky-tacky injuries were also listed on the report. Kendall Fuller jammed his thumb during Sunday’s game, and it shouldn’t be a problem. Patrick Mahomes’ non-throwing wrist doesn’t appear to be a problem as he practiced in full. Anthony Hitchens is still listed as dealing with a quad injury, but participated in full.
It’s a short week, so we’ll get game designations following Wednesday’s practice. Check back then for the very latest.
