SIOUX FALLS, SD – The weather’s been cold enough for Great Bear Ski Valley to open for the season today. There will be limited runs for skiing and snowboarding. The tubing hill isn’t open yet. Great Bear is located at 5901 East Rice Street in Sioux Falls.
The Singing Boys of Sioux Falls present their Christmas Concert at East Side Lutheran Church. The performance is at 3 p.m. A free-will offering will be taken. Refreshments will follow the concert. East Side Lutheran is located at 10th and Cliff Avenue in Sioux Falls.
First Lutheran Church in downtown Sioux Falls is hosting its annual German Christmas Service from 2-3:30 p.m. The service is spoken in the German language and features traditional German Christmas songs. Coffee, German cookies and other goodies will be served after the service.
The Sioux Empire Community Theatre presents two performances of A Christmas Carol. Show times are at 2 and 7 p.m at the Orpheum Theater in downtown Sioux Falls. Tickets are $30.
Today’s Flick & Float event at the Midco Aquatic Center features The Little Mermaid II. Show time is at 2 p.m. The cost is a daily admission or an active swim pass. The Midco Aquatic Center is located at Spellerberg Park in Sioux Falls.
The Tripp Fire Department is serving a Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tripp Fire Hall. The cost is $8, kids 10 years and younger eat for free. Proceeds will go toward firefighting equipment and training.
Trinity Lutheran Church in Tea, SD invites you to the Christmas Cantata: And On Earth… Peace. The performance is at 10:30 a.m. You’re asked to bring a gift for area families who are struggling for the holidays.
Black Hills church choirs will perform during the 40th annual Community Christmas Concert. The music starts at 2 p.m. at the Sturgis Community Center. A free-will donation will be taken at the door.
Members of Canton Lutheran Church are performing a Live Nativity. The showings are at 5:30, 6 & 6:30 p.m. The cost is a free-will donation.
Take in the festive holiday lights on display at Falls Park. Winter Wonderland is nightly from 6 to midnight through January 6th. Admission is free.
Christmas at the Western Mall in Sioux Falls is a holiday fundraiser for Make A Wish South Dakota. The synchronized lights and music go from 5:30 to 9:30 each night through New Year’s Day.
Christmas at the Capitol presents An Enchanted Christmas. Nearly 90 decorated trees are on display at the South Dakota Capitol in Pierre. The display is open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. through December 25th.
Sioux Falls VFW Post 628 is serving an all-you-can-eat Pancake Breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children. The VFW is located at 3601 S. Minnesota Avenue.
Country music fans can enjoy A Night with Sawyer Brown in the Expo Building of the W.H. Lyon Fairgrounds. The concert is at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20.
