Kansas City Chiefs fans in St. Joseph are showing their excitement ahead of the AFC Championship game.
The Chiefs take on the New England Patriots at Arrowhead Stadium on Sunday for the NFL Conference Championship.
Chiefs fans gathered at the North Belt McDonald’s on Thursday with mascot KC Wolf. Photos were taken, autographs were given out and Chiefs chants were sung.
“We’re so excited about the Kansas City Chiefs and when they won that playoff game after such a long drought, we said, ‘We got to bring KC Wolf to St. Joe,'” said Chris Habiger, McDonalds’ franchise owner.
KC Wolf hung out with fans from 5:30 until 7 p.m. He made his way through the McDonalds’ kitchen and greeted drivers in the drive-through.
Habiger said if the Chiefs win Sunday, the local McDonald’s will offer two-weeks of fun activities and promotions at its locations.
Community Health Event Manager Claire Clark with Mosaic Life Care will also represent St. Joseph’s excitement when she makes her appearance on a popular cooking show.
Clark will be on Rachael Ray Show on Friday. Clark said she is representing the Chiefs on the annual Fantasy Football episode where fans compete in a cooking competition.
Chiefs coverage begins at 5:40 p.m. on KCJO 30.
