Kansas City Chiefs announce Daniel Sorensen will return to practice

Kansas City Chiefs safety Daniel Sorensen will return to practice Wednesday afternoon, the team announced via its official Twitter account.

Sorensen had been on injured reserve since prior to the season after suffering an injury during Chiefs training camp. He had surgery to repair his knee in early August.

We provided a full explanation of Sorensen’s injury here.

In early September, Chiefs general manager Brett Veach said the Chiefs were hoping Sorensen to be able to play “half the season.”

With Sorensen eligible to return after Week 8 (meaning he’s ineligible for the Broncos Sunday), it appears the Chiefs will get their wish.

It will be interesting to see how Sorensen fits in a safety room with Ron Parker, Eric Murray and Jordan Lucas, but right now, head coach Andy Reid said the team will take a “wait-and-see” approach.

No matter what they decide to do, it’s nice for Chiefs fans to be hearing about a player returning for a change, as the injuries have been seemingly piling up lately for Kansas City.
