There are a lot of different reasons that shifts and motions are valuable to what offenses are trying to accomplish.

They can get defenses thinking on the snap of the ball, they can help quarterback identify the coverage the defense is in, they can help create mismatches and more.

Andy Reid loves himself some shifts and motions in his play calling. The amount he uses is amazing, and he’s introduced some to the league.

This week, he used a motion by Kareem Hunt to get the action going one way only to get the ball in the hands of Tyreek Hill going the other direction. We broke it down in this week’s edition of 45 Seconds.
