The Chiefs released their final injury report of the week on Friday. Demetrius Harris is still dealing with a sickness. Sammy Watkins didn’t practice and is continuing to have some issues with his foot.
Check out the injury report complete with gameday designations down below:
|Knee / Sick
|Quad / Rib
* Out = Won’t play | Doubtful = Unlikely to play | Questionable = Possible to play
Eric Berry is questionable to play. He practiced in a limited capacity on Friday. It marks his sixth-straight limited practice since returning to practice for the Chiefs. The team may decide to play him on Sunday, but if they do it’ll be on a pitch count, meaning they’d take him out after a certain number of snaps. I feel it’s more likely they rest Berry for yet another week and debut him on Thursday Night Football against the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 15.
Harris is dealing with some sort of sickness. The Chiefs plan for him to be ready and available to play on Sunday. He’s listed as questionable, but unless he gets significantly more sick in the next two days, he’ll likely play during the game.
Sammy Watkins is doubtful to play on Sunday. Watkins of course was the subject of some news this morning. The Chiefs had patiently been awaiting his return to action. Many though this week he’d be ready from his mysterious foot injury. Instead he was unable to practice on Thursday. The team training staff got him an MRI on his foot and according to Andy Reid it checked out. However, it sounds like the Chiefs are prepared to sit Sammy Watkins for the rest of the regular season to ensure that he remains healthy for the playoffs. The good news here is that it’s nothing serious, the bad news is that rest is the only prescribed cure to this ailment.
Chiefs starting linebacker Anthony Hitchens doesn’t have an injury designation for Sunday. He’ll play any without restrictions.
We’ll keep you updated if any changes are made to the Chiefs’ injury report prior to the game on Sunday.
