Chiefs Lead Raiders, 19-7, at Halftime

The Kansas City Chiefs are leading the Oakland Raiders, 19-7, at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum on Sunday afternoon as the two teams head into the locker room for halftime.

Chiefs’ quarterback Patrick Mahomes completed 13-of-18 passes for 160 yards and two touchdowns in the half, finding tight end Travis Kelce for a 3-yard score to give Kansas City an early lead.

On the other side of the ball, the Chiefs’ forced and recovered two Oakland fumbles to turn the ball right back over to the offense. Kansas City later turned each of those takeaways into points, as Harrison Butker connected on a pair of field goals.

The Chiefs held the Raiders off of the scoreboard until the final minute of the half, when Oakland tailback Doug Martin plunged ahead for a 1-yard touchdown to narrow the Kansas City advantage.

The Chiefs’ offense then responded in kind, however, as Mahomes found Kelce for a 6-yard touchdown with just seconds left on the clock. It marked Kelce’s ninth receiving touchdown of the year, establishing a career-high, and with 95 receiving yards in the half, Kelce surpassed the 1,000-yard mark for a third-straight season.

The All-Pro tight end is just the second tight end in NFL history to tally three-straight 1,000-yard campaigns, joining Greg Olsen.
