If national NFL observers are to be believed, the Chiefs are going to snap their losing streak at one.
Well, one isn’t really a streak, but you get what I’m saying, right?
Of the 47 NFL experts to make a prediction for Sunday’s game, which kicks off at 7:20 p.m. and will be broadcast on NBC (Ch. 41), 45 went with the Chiefs to win at Arrowhead Stadium.
Here is the breakdown and what people are saying about the game.
All of ESPN’s 10 experts predicted a Chiefs victory: Mike Golic, Trey Wingo, Molly Qerim, Louis Riddick, Kevin Seifert, Seth Wickersham, Matt Bowen, Mike Clay, Mina Kimes and Dan Graziano.
The Chiefs were the pick by all eight of the CBS Sports writers: Pete Prisco, Jason La Canfora, Jared Dubin, John Breech, Dave Richard, Will Brinson, Ryan Wilson and Jamey Eisenberg. Pete Prisco predicted a 31-27 Chiefs win. He wrote: “The Chiefs are rolling on offense, while the Bengals have had issues on defense. That’s a bad combination.”
Four of USA Today’s five experts picked the Chiefs: Nate Davis, Lorenzo Reyes, Mike Jones and Mike Middlehurst-Schwartz. Jarrett Bell thinks the Bengals will prevail.
Elliot Harrison of NFL.com predicted a 36-28 victory for the Chiefs. He wrote: “While Cincy’s defense is full of talented players, the unit’s performance has been a conundrum: The Bengals allowed 481 yards last Sunday and are giving up 26.3 points per game. Good luck slowing down Kansas City’s rubber-armed QB.”
David Steele of the Sporting News forecast a 34-28 Chiefs win. He wrote: “This ought to be as anticipated as any game this week and any prime-time game this season, even though both teams are coming off heart-breaking, last-minute losses. To jump off the Bengals’ bandwagon after that Antonio Brown touchdown would be premature. No one’s ready to sell on the Chiefs after Patrick Mahomes almost out-Brady’d Tom Brady. Chances are a playoff bye is on the line here.”
The seven Sports Illustrated Monday Morning Quarterback writers picked the Chiefs: Albert Breer, Andrew Brandt, Mitch Goldich, Jonathan Jones, Bette Marston, Mark Mravic and Jenny Vrentas.
All eight Pro Focus Football writers believe the Chiefs will win:
Six of seven SB Nation writers picked the Chiefs. While Adam Stites chose the Bengals to win, Ryan Van Bibber, Charles McDonald, David Fucillo, Geoff Schwartz, Stephen White and Christian D’Andrea predicted a Chiefs victory.
