Andy Reid: “It’s never too cold for Chiefs fans”

In case you haven’t seen or heard, this video of FOX Sports host Colin Cowherd has been making the rounds on Wednesday, ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs’ AFC championship matchup with the New England Patriots:

COWHERD: “Arrowhead’s considered one of the loudest stadiums in America, college or pro. It will be 9 below (degrees). Everybody’s going to be wearing a ski mask. People aren’t going to be standing and cheering. They’re going to be huddled, wearing wool, trying to stay warm, wearing something over their mouths. Home-field advantage via the crowd, done.”

It seems that Cowherd has never attended a Chiefs game before.

Earlier this week, forecasts called for an “arctic blast,” with a chance for the coldest game in Arrowhead Stadium history. That forecast has since improved, but it didn’t stop reporters from asking Andy Reid about the cold in his opening presser on Wednesday.

“It’s never too cold for Chiefs fans,” Reid said. “They’ll be there and that’s a great thing the Sea of Red—they’re loud and they show up all the time, so they will be ready to go.”

Against the Indianapolis Colts during Saturday’s division-round game, the impact of the crowd on the game was palpable.

It is a safe bet to expect the same on Sunday.
